Brenda is an artist and art educator working in Toronto. Her surface designs are inspired by nature and created by stretching silk fabric onto the frame and using drawing fluid to draw her designs onto the silk for screen printing. Brenda's designs are hand drawn, painted and printed on linen and wool fabrics that are then cut with intention and sewn into works that are meant to be draped and scattered as artworks throughout the home or as installation pieces in various environments. Because of this process, each piece is one-of-a-kind.
While pursuing a degree in art education and studio art Brenda was introduced to painting, printmaking and drawing, and has always loved creating with colour, texture and experimenting with various materials.
Brenda studied at both the Ontario College of Art and Design and Emily Carr University.
