This delicate platter is made from green-turned, charred, oiled salvaged red oak. Able to tolerate light use, it is finished with food-safe oil and wax. Despite being burned, the grain of the wood still shines through.
Imperfections, cracks, warping, and natural impacts, like fire, and signs of human interaction, like tool marks, are deliberately incorporated to create objects that narrate their own past while living on in the cultural context of our homes.
Measures 6.5"diameter x 4" high.
Food-safe. Made from locally salvaged Manitoba Maple.
Handmade in Ontario.
