In 2015 her work was featured in the book Slow Stitch: Mindful and Contemplative Textile Art by Claire Wellesley Smith.

Judy Martin received the Craft Ontario VolunteerCommittee’s Mid-Career Award forExcellence in 2018.

"I make large scale abstract drawings with thread and cloth. Since 2010 I have been harvesting and processing natural plant dyes from the local fields and my kitchen to use in my work. My practice is informed by the aesthetics of simplicity, time, labour, repetition and the sense of touch. Day dreams, memories and the rush of everyday life are stitched into the work over lengthy periods of time in my lap."

I strive to express our emotional and vulnerable inner world because I believe that is what art does best.
