Collection: Finefolk Furniture

Katrina Tompkins is a furniture designer and maker, advocator of craft and educator. She has been making furniture for over a decade; her formal education in furniture design and fabrication began at the School of Craft and Design at Sheridan College and recently Katrina completed a Masters of Design degree at OCAD U. She has spent time apprenticing in the studios of renowned makers Michael Fortune (Ontario) and Mike Paterson (Newfoundland) and studied at craft institutions Anderson Ranch (Colorado) and Haystack Mountain School of Craft (Maine).

Katrina is an active member of Craft Ontario and the PEC Arts Council, she exhibits work regularly and has been honoured to receive numerous awards including a Herman Miller Award, Lady Flavelle Award, Sam Maloof Scholarship, PEC Arts Council grant and many more. Katrina has taught furniture design and fabrication at the degree granting level at both OCAD University and Sheridan College. She is grateful to call Prince Edward County home.
