Collection: Sara Heron
Sara Heron received her BA from McGill University in Montreal and her MFA from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She has worked in multiple and diverse mediums, always in the pursuit of that place where sensuality meets abstraction, presently settling on stone wherein the reductive process demarcates the tension between form and essence.
Whether dealing with the human torso or a bird like form, Brancusi’s statement "what is real is not the external form but the essence of things" has been her guiding light.
Sara's work has won numerous awards and is in the collection of the Bank of Montreal as well as in several private collections in Canada, Europe and the United States. Recently three of her large sculptures were exhibited at the YVR Airport in Vancouver.
