This handmade cherry wood light can be a great addition to your living area, your studio, your deck or patio, or your entryway… Turn on the light and admire the geometrical patterns cast by the lamp shade!
Based on a structural pattern called Reciprocity. each of the 90 steam-bent cherry wood sticks supports two others along its span, and is supported at the ends by the ones it connects with. The result is a light, but strong, geometrical composition with no clear structural hierarchy, as all sticks play the same role keeping the integrity of the structure.
Physalis is handwoven; all the sticks are cut, drilled, sanded, varnished, and fastened together with solid brass hardware. The light socket is inserted in a custom made brass sleeve that connects to the geodesic shade with 3 brass rods.
Measures 24" diameter; supported by brass legs.
