Drawing inspiration from a respect for primitive or tribal art, and the use of symbolism, has led Wendy to create this series of clay sculptures. Each unique piece has been hand formed using the pinch technique, then surface burnished with a silverspoon prior to being bisque and smoke fired. Organic and natural materials are applied to the surface at various stages of this intimate process to embellish with mark and colour. A finish is applied at the end
to seal and enhance the look and feel of the object.
Each sculpture is mounted on a concrete base. Each measures approximately 18" tall. And each is one-of-a-kind.
Handmade in Prince Edward County.
