Artist Statement:

"The convex mirror has fascinated artists for centuries. From medieval times to the present, its warped perspective has served as both a literal and metaphorical lens. In Jan van Eyck’s Arnolfini Portrait, it stood as an allegory for God’s eye — a watchful, omnipresent gaze. In contemporary life, the convex mirror suggests surveillance: overseeing a storefront, bending vision around a corner.

"Eye reflects this timeless fascination with a skewed perspective — the act of seeing from another angle. Its simplicity is rare in bronze. Minimalism is seldom explored in this medium, making this piece a quiet rebellion: both inviting curiosity and, simultaneously, looking back."
