Artist Statement:
How to represent life? How to represent our joys, fears, and pains? How to sculpt one's life story? As a figurative sculptor, these are the questions that pop up in my mind.
I came up with the idea of a face, a face that would read like a map. Here a ravine, here a mountain peak, there a river. All metaphors for those pains, fears and joys that have filled one's life. That face would not be whole. As our "map" keeps evolving, as we write new chapters. That face would resemble a cup. Just a face and a neck, nothing else, just a cup to contain the unique life story of each one of us.
Let me introduce you to Mon Histoire.
